A Family Affair

This photo is from a few years ago. Pictured above is my mother, my sister, myself, and my oldest niece. My sister and I were both born in October, so we usually try to get together and do something in order to celebrate our birthdays. We will spend the morning or afternoon having quality family time and usually treat ourselves to some ice cream afterwords to make up for all of the calories we may have burned throughout the day. It doesn't have to be a special occasion for us to get together for a bike ride. We like to explore local trails as well. We bike the Little Blue in Independence more frequently than any other; however, my mother would really like to bike the Katy Trail someday. Hopefully we will be able to make it there sometime in the near future!

  1. I used to biking with my dad all the time we I was younger. We would bike from Oak Grove all the way to Grainvalley. I had a blast doing it, this picture alone makes me want to start biking again with my fiance'.

  2. October is a perfect time for birthdays and enjoying the fall views! I have always wanted to get into biking. I think I have a little mental block about what type of bike to ride, what if I get a flat tire, etc. I look forward to your adventures and look forward to the motivation ahead!

  3. What a great family tradition. I haven't done the Katy Trail but my son and husband have done it with the Boy Scouts and love it. It is on my list for next year.
