Biking in the Backwoods

With the leaves changing and the radiant colors of fall livening the countryside, October is a perfect time for a bike ride through the backwoods. The heat of summer has subsided and the cool fall air provides for a refreshing outing. Regardless if you are accompanied by a close friend or deciding to ride solo, it is always enjoyable. I feel like a breath of fresh air and change of scenery is able to do wonders for the mind. Whenever I feel stressed due to the burdens of life, I feel that I can always find a way to release those pressures by interacting with Gods wonderful creation. So if you ever get to feeling weighed down by the hectic world we live in, try to take a casual ride through nature and see everything that it has to offer!

  1. I have no idea the last time I rode a bike :/ Props to you, other than it being what seems to be a hobby of yours, its also a great way to exercise, especially in the backwood, that seems a lot harder! Ha.

  2. Jamie,

First off I love your description of the fall scenery! I took on bike riding about a year ago and while I'm still not the greatest at it or have the time for it I still really enjoyed it much more then I thought I would. Something about riding by yourself with nothing but you and the road has a very soothing effect.

  3. I think I might just buy a bike because of this. It's a great hobby to have and it's great exercise. Kudos to you Jamie for using this as an outlet.

  4. I've been wanting to buy a bike but living in an apartment makes it nearly impossible to properly house a bike. I don't have a balcony (and even if I did, who'd want a bike sitting on the balcony) nor do I have any storage, so that's my main reason for not having a bike. And as strange as it sounds, when I do decide to buy a house, I do want a bike to be one of my first purchases. It is definitely a great passive exercise.

  6. I recently started biking with my son this spring, I have to admit we have both fell off do to the summers scorching conditions on top of me just being overly busy. I love the idea of serenity through cycling, I'll have to get back out there to enjoy the crisp air and view of natures falling.

  9. I like going biking riding with my daughters. It allows me to clear my stressors of everyday life and I feel a lot better once I'm done. Bike riding is one of the best full body cardio workouts there is.
